Well it took longer to let the sealant dry on the fittings than it did to get the pump prime. The system primed up on the second crank of the engine and oil started filling up the tube. I had to do some troubleshooting and figured out the fuel pump relay was disconnected by the PO. Hooked it up and the car started for the first time! Now to get the drive shaft hooked up and take her for a spin.
